There are lots of ways to prepare ribs, and I am no expert. You can smoke them, grill them, or bake them. I have only ever baked them, and I find that baking pork ribs is REALLY easy, and relatively fast! Here is a nice ribs recipe for you to try:
- 1 lb pork spare ribs PER PERSON
- Onion, sliced
- Garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper
Now, leave it at that or get more creative: I recently topped some ribs with candied jalapenos that a friend made, and they turned out great–sweet and spicey. Some ideas I might try in the future are cloves, allspice, apple cider vinegar, maybe some sliced applies, and a little sugar or honey. Or make a barbeque sauce with a little ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, mustard, and cayenne. Pork goes with sweet or spicy. You practically can’t mess it up!
Place the ribs in a deep glass baking dish and cover with the spices and vegetables. Marinate the ribs in the refrigerator if you have time for up to 24 hours. Preheat the oven to 400. Cook the ribs covered with foil for about 3 hours. Uncover and cook another 30 minutes to crisp them up a bit. Let cool slightly before serving. Delish!
