Pet Visiting Policy:
We love our 4-legged friends, too, but please leave yours at home during your trip to the farm. The farm store is a licensed grocery store, and per state regulations, pets are not permitted in the building.
If your pet must tag along for the drive, they should stay in your air-conditioned vehicle for their own safety and the safety of the animal and human residents of Shady Grove Ranch. There are many dangers for visiting dogs at the ranch, including electric fence, cattle (which do NOT tolerate dogs in their pasture, not even ours), and our own livestock guardian dogs. It is our policy to require that all pets remain in the owner’s vehicle at all times. Please be sure your pet is getting sufficient air conditioning. If there is a risk they may get too hot in your vehicle, please leave your pet at home when you visit the farm. We do offer online shopping and curbside pickup, but curbside orders MUST be placed 48 hours in advance.
Service animals trained to do specific tasks to aid persons with disabilities are excepted and welcome to assist their owner at the farm store by doing their important job. However, they must be restrained with a leash. If they cannot perform their service tasks on a leash, they must be trained to be controlled at all times using verbal or signal commands, and are not permitted to enter the farm property other than the parking area and retail store during regular open hours. This is for their safety and the safety of our livestock.
If you would like to attend a farm tour with a service animal alongside, please contact us prior to registering so we can make sure to mitigate any potential conflicts your companion animal may have with our livestock or livestock guardian dogs. Pets are not permitted to attend farm tours.
